About Explore21

A Bitcoin explorer and charts, served from our own node. Free, no ads, no accounts. Signal, not noise.

Where we started

Explore21 counts its age in blocks. The first line of code went in 45 seconds after block 816,139, found by AntPool on 10 Nov 2023. Fees were near a record that week: a simple payment cost about $12.61.

What you can do here

  • Look up any block by its height or hash: who found it, what is inside, and how full it was.
  • Follow a transaction: confirmed or waiting, what it paid, and what to do if it is stuck.
  • Check any address: its balance and its history.
  • See what fees cost right now, in sats and in money.
  • Read the long view on the charts, and every two weeks in the newsletter (in Bulgarian).

Where the numbers come from

From our own Bitcoin node, which checks every rule itself and keeps a full copy of the chain. Nothing is bought from a data vendor, so a number in the explorer, on the charts and in the newsletter is the same number, and anyone can recompute it from the chain.

Prices come from public exchange feeds, checked against each other every five minutes.

Why it is free

Bitcoin's history is public by design, and reading it should not need an account or a subscription. There are no ads and we sell no data. If the site is useful to you, a donation keeps the node running.

Explore21 is built and run by Dimitar Zurnov. It started as a block explorer and grew a second half: an ingestion pipeline that rebuilds every on-chain metric from the chain itself, and the charts on top.
